Avanza's  Founder & Principal consultant  Edith Quiroz has over 20 years’ experience working for social change in both government and nonprofit organizations.  She has a keen understanding of the challenges nonprofits face and knows how to overcome them. Her deep roots in the Latine community, culture and history guide her work and philosophy and she believes that systemic change is possible and key to advancing justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.

As the former Executive Director of El Programa Hispano Católico (EPHC) (2018–2024), Edith led one of Oregon’s largest and most impactful social service organizations, expanding services to over 39,000 individuals, and securing over $2.6 million in private foundation support. Under her leadership, EPHC grew its staff from 55 to 130 employees, strengthened its administrative infrastructure, and received recognition as one of Oregon Business’s 100 Best Nonprofits to Work For in 2024. 

 

She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Ethnic Studies from Oregon State University, a Financial Success for Nonprofits Certificate from Cornell University, and is a BoardSource Certified Nonprofit Consultant, demonstrating her expertise in nonprofit governance and board development. She is also a Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum (Class 42).Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Edith is passionate about guiding mission-driven organizations through growth and transformation
