Transforming Organizations and Empowering Leaders

Meet Edith
At Avanza Consulting, I help organizations and leaders transform their systems to better meet their mission and amplify the impact they want to make in the world. I began my consulting journey over 25 years ago, initially offering Cultural Awareness trainings to nonprofit, government, and educational institutions. As my nonprofit career evolved, so did my services, expanding to include leadership development, strategic planning, and community outreach.
In 2015, I launched my first professional development project, the ThinkMujer Summit, a leadership space for Latina professionals. By 2019, I began supporting organizations with Interim Executive Leadership, helping stabilize and lead during times of transition. One of those appointments led to a permanent Executive Director role with the culturally specific organization El Programa Hispano Católico (EPHC) where I proudly led the board and staff for just over six years.
Together, we accomplished incredible milestones, including:
-
Expanding services to over 39,000 individuals annually
-
Growing staff from 55 to 130 employees
-
Building infrastructure in HR, finance, development, and operations
-
Earning recognition as one of Oregon’s 100 Best Nonprofits to Work For (2024)
Now, through Avanza Consulting, I continue walking alongside nonprofit leaders, boards, and public agencies to implement vision, build capacity, and lead with equity.
I’m fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and my upbringing as the daughter of seasonal farmworkers deeply shapes my perspective on justice, community, and resilience. I hold a B.A. in Sociology and Ethnic Studies from Oregon State University, a Certificate in Nonprofit Financial Success from Cornell University, and I’m a proud Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum (Class 42).
Above all, I’m a proud mamá of three amazing teens, a constant source of joy, grounding, and inspiration.
